COGNITIVE

1. The students will compose a persuasive ad using descriptive words after reading articles describing
Chinese Dragon Boat Races. (Lisa Huckaby)
2. The students will contrast Chinese Dragon Boats and American Dragon Boats. (Lisa Huckaby)
3. The students will understand the main concept of the abacus, a counting tool for arithmetic. (L.Jackson)
4. The students will make an abacus and be able to demonstrate simple numbers, addition, and

5. The students will work with the hundreds place value, create and manipulate three-digit additon problems, and add three-digit numbers. (L.Jackson)
6. Students will create a Venn Diagram comparing and contrasting the weather in China to the weather in the U.S. (R.West)
7. Students will learn the basics of Laws of Motion, and demonstrate comprehension by creating drawings of what Laws of Motion look like. (R.West)
8. Students will learn the Chinese origin of inventions such as the compass and kite, and will construct their own in an art project. (R.West)
9. The students will locate China on a map and label China, surrounding countries and bodies of water on a map. (M. Tran)
10. The students will identify the route of the Silk Road and list items that were traded on the Silk road. (M. Tran)
11. The students will learn about the origins of the Great Wall and build a model of the Great Wall. (M. Tran)
